Paradise Island was really beginning to make her mark back on the track. She had succeeded in the Independence Cup, beating out Euphoria's Warrior and Flashy Wings to win by seven lengths. Finally, Jacey was happy that the fillies name was out there again after her Triple Tiara win. It seemed that people had felt the filly beginning to fade, but she had bounced back off from the win last week to be ready to take another - even though it seemed unlikely. She was entered in a turf race over 9 furlongs. She could race over both surfaces and as she only had one more season to go, Jacey thought it was time to utilize the fact that she could do so. There were four horses against her in the Man O' War Stakes and she was a shock late entry, but Jacey knew with the right amount of practise, she'd become perfect.
Jacey was shocked after the fillies outburst after breaking through the gate before the Independance Cup, it appeared that she was so full of energy and ready for that win that she got a little over excited. Jacey carried on with the race after the vet examination, as there was no problems with the filly whatsoever, so she felt it would be good to run her - and oh boy, it was the finest idea she had ever made. The field for the Man O' War was a strong field full of three year olds.
Starting in Gate One would be GS Royal Crown - he had an amazing season so far over the turf, and he was perfect. He had recently won the Grade Two Autumn Cup Dirt at Green Horse Fields. As the colt was maturing, he was becoming really good and looked to be becoming a superstar. The colt didn't start until later in his two year old season, where he began clocking up the wins again, before placing third in the GHF BC Juvenile Turf. He looked to be good for the race - especially with having all the preferences for it.
If the workout is not done, use the September Week 2 work - I will finish this one as a monthly workout! :P
